Our favorite part about weddings… the cocktail hour, of course. This moment of your wedding is one of the most important pieces for your guests. Before you say ‘do we really need to have a cocktail hour, it’s an additional cost we really don’t want to take on’ think of it in a different way. Your wedding day preparation can be quite extensive. From getting your hair and makeup done, photos, and just the overall checklist going off in your own mind will have you ready for some bottomless appetizers as soon as cocktail hour hits. Think of your guests the same way knowing the time, travel and anticipation they have accrued leading up to this day. We promise, there is nothing worse than a starving crowd and you do not want people overlooking the gorgeous ambiance you have helped create all these months because all they can focus on is how hungry they are. Most of your guests likely will have eaten lunch hours ago before they got ready for your wedding and headed out the door. For them, they have sat through your beautiful ceremony and once you walk down the aisle and begin family photos, trust us, they are looking for hors d’oeuvres. Don’t be the couple that starved your guests! There are ways you can compromise one thing for another but take our word—never compromise your cocktail hour. When you finish up your family photos and walk into an atmosphere of smiling faces, the joy of connecting with one another over personally selected hors d’oeuvres is a moment in time you will cherish, and so will they.
